How to Use Gunaso
A step-by-step guide to reporting local issues, engaging with your community, and using Lost & Found, all from your phone.
Reporting a Civic Issue
Report a problem in your community in under a minute.
Open the Report tab
Open the app and tap the center "Report" tab (the + button) at the bottom of the screen.
Describe the issue
Enter a clear title and description of the issue (e.g. "Broken road near ward 5 market").
Add photos
Add up to 3 photos, use the camera or pick from your gallery. Photos make your report more credible.
Set the location
Choose your district and municipality from the list, or tap "Use my location" for GPS, or drop a pin on the map.
Submit your report
Tap Submit, your report is live and visible to your entire community immediately.
Browsing & Engaging with Issues
See what's happening in your area and take action.
Browse the feed
Scroll the home feed to see issues reported by others in your area.
Filter by location
Filter by district and municipality to narrow the feed to your community.
View issue details
Tap an issue to see full details, photos, map, status, and comments from the community.
Vote on issues
Upvote or downvote to signal priority. The most-voted issues rise to the top.
Comment
Add context, updates, or solutions in the comments section.
Share with others
Share the issue link with others, tap the share button or copy the direct link.
Lost & Found Documents
Help reunite people with their lost official documents.
Open Lost & Found
Tap the "Lost & Found" banner on the home screen to access the module.
Browse found documents
Search by name or filter by document type (citizenship, license, PAN, passport, etc.).
Report a found document
If you found someone's document, tap "Report Found Document" to list it.
Fill in details
Enter: document type, owner's name (if visible), description, contact phone, location where found, and a photo. Remember to cover sensitive details like ID numbers.
Get contacted
The owner or someone who recognizes it can call you directly from the listing.
Mark as collected
Once returned, mark it as "Collected" with a proof photo to close the listing.
